An overview of the QuickLap method

Planks are scarfed together in pairs to help get a perfect match. Stepped scarfs simplify the alignment and gluing process.

With just a few planks riveted together the shape of the hull begins to appear.

When both halves of the hull are assembled with rivets, they are ready to stitch together along the keel, making a complete hull.

Temporary clamps hold the planks together at the stems, and the completely assembled hull is ready to have it's inside plank laps and keel joint filleted

When the epoxy fillets are cured the hull's shape is defined and the rivets can be removed.

The hull is turned over and the outside laps are epoxy filled and filleted, further locking the hull into it's final shape.

After the garboards and inside keel are fiberglassed, the hull is ready for sanding, painting, and finish woodwork.
